Aileen Hutchins: Rear Commodore
From May to September, there are one or two social events per week on the calendar. Some, like the “LobsterFest” and the Annual Picnic, are RSVP occasions. Others are informal dinners, after evening racing or parties after a regatta. Most of all, the deck, with its panoramic views across the Cove and Captain’s Harbor, is available for casual cook-out style dining.
Highlights:
In February and March, the Club will be hosting three events open to the public - A Family Open House, A Backgammon Tournament and a Clamfishing expedition. All are geared to giving Greenwich residents interest in boating a taste of what it would be like to be a member of OGYC.
The Family Open House is a recruiting event centered on families. OGYC families invite one guest family to the club to see what’s planned for 2010, learn about club programs and the 2010 club calendar; watch a sailing film and participate in boating-related activities. Feel free to bring an appetizer, desert or drink for others to share. Children are encouraged.
